Effingham, IL Plant
Schulte Building Systems is proud to announce the opening of its newest metal building manufacturing facility in Effingham, Illinois. The new location complements our two existing state of the art manufacturing facilities that are located in Hockley, TX and Hueytown, AL. Like our Texas and Alabama facility this plant is specifically designed for material flow that will allow us to provide the marketplace with a high quality product, that is erector friendly and cost effective.
Plant Closing Announcement
Schulte Building Systems, Inc. (SBS) has decided to close its manufacturing plant in Effingham, IL, effective October 31, 2010.
“The decision (to close), while always difficult, will allow us to upgrade some the equipment in our plants in Hueytown, AL and Hockley, TX” said Frank Rosales, Jr., Executive Vice President. He also said “While the production facility will no longer be operational, this does not mean that we will not continue to sell in this region. SBS will continue to fabricate frames in Hockley, while the secondary framing, sheets and trim will continue to come from Hueytown. So for many of our customers nothing will change.”
This business decision allows better management of costs and continued quality with great service. Customer communication will continue through existing district sales managers and sales support staff.
It is unfortunate that despite the best efforts by all SBS associates, it is no longer economically feasible to keep operating the plant.
Ron Ambrosius, General Sales Manager had this to say “Due to the low levels of construction activity in the Midwest region during the past 18 months and a meager forecast for 2011, we have decided to close the Effingham plant.” He reiterated that “SBS will continue to support our customers from our other facilities in Hueytown, AL and Hockley, TX.”
