Schulte Building Systems has recently appointed three new District Managers – Component Sales and would like to welcome them to the SBS team.

Andy HowardAndy Howard joins Schulte Building Components with 14 years of experience in the Metal Building industry. He is the new District Manager for Alabama.

 

 

 

 

 

Jeff TimmeJeff Timme joins Schulte Building Components with nearly 20 years of experience in the metal building & component industry. He lives in the Tyler area with his three children Callie (16), Jake (11) and Brett (9).

 

 

 

 

Jake StricklandJake Strickland has over nineteen years in the metal building component industry. He has served in positions ranging from sheet line operator to plant manager, and finally inside sales. The last three years have been spent with Schulte Building Systems as the Scheduling Manager. He lives in Simonton, Texas with his wife, Sonja and one son Greg (20).

 

 

 

 

Ron Ambrosius Promotion

Ron AmbrosiusEffective April 19, 2010, Ron Ambrosius, who now serves as Wisconsin District Sales Manager, will be promoted to General Manager of SBS Building Sales. He will be responsible for managing both the outside and inside sales team, to increase building sales and profitability.

Ron graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Industrial Technology. He began his 36 year metal building career on the “buyer” side of the business, when he worked for a general contractor. Early in his career with this builder, he worked as a crewmember for the concrete, masonry, carpentry and steel divisions. He moved up to foreman and eventually to general superintendent.

In 1979, Ron moved to the manufacturing side, when he began working for a major manufacturer here in Houston, TX.  During the past 31 years with several metal building companies, Ron has worked in many sales related positions: trouble shooter/ Component sales, sales service manager, estimator, contract manager and district sales manager.

Ron and his wife, Carol, will be relocating back to Houston from the Milwaukee area. They have two children; a daughter, Liz, who is in graduate school at the University of Wisconsin and a son, Frank, who will graduate from the University of Iowa this spring.

Ron’s hobbies are fishing, golfing and traveling.

Let’s all wish Ron the best as he begins this challenging role with Schulte Building Systems.

Schulte Building Systems, Inc. Wins Prestigious MBMA Award

Fred Koetting, President & CEO of Schulte Building Systems, Inc. receives prestigious MBMA AwardSchulte Building Systems, Inc. was recently recognized with an industry Safety Award from the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA), a national building industry association (www.mbma.com). Each year MBMA recognizes metal building systems manufacturers who show exceptional commitment to assuring workplace safety. Safety Awards were presented at the MBMA Annual Meeting held December 8-9, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. “Analyzing data submitted by our member companies, MBMA used OSHA guidelines to compare award entrants’ safety scores to other companies with similar exposure to accidents,” states Charles E. Praeger, Assistant General Manager of MBMA.

From the 43 manufacturing facilities nationwide that submitted data, 26 awards were presented – and some were given to multiple locations within the same company.  MBMA patterned the awards program to conform to OSHA safety standards. Read more »

Schulte Adds Midwest Facility

Schulte Building Systems of Hockley, Texas, has opened a new metal building manufacturing facility in Effingham, Ill. Company President Fred Koetting said the complex will help Schulte take advantage of what it sees as a potentially profitable region. Effingham is 100 miles (160 km) from St. Louis and 75 miles (120 km) from Terra Haute, Ind., located between the two cities off Interstate 70.

Schulte Building Systems has recently appointed Darell Northen as the Sales Managers of Component Sales and Gary Thomsen as the Building Sales District Manager for Florida. We would like to welcome them to the SBS team.

Darrell NorthenComponent Sales Manager — Darrell has nearly 33 years of metal building industry experience and will offer us great expertise in the development and growth of all Component Sales, the outside sales team as well as overall management of the Component sales division. Darrell has lived in the Houston area for 43 years, the last 29 years with wife Dianna and has two grown children, Michael (27) and Jennifer (25).

Mitch EarwoodDistrict Sales Manager for Northern AL — My name is Mitch Earwood and I have worked in the metal building industry for 35-years. My last 27 years have been as a district sales manager in the state of Alabama for various companies including 10 year + stints with 2 major metal building manufacturers. I have been married to my wife Debra for 38 years and we have one son named Drew who is 21 years old. My hobbies are golf and SEC football!

 

 

Lucy HoweLucy Howe — District Sales Manager for Southern AL and FL Panhandle. Lucy joins the SBS team with eighteen (18) years experience in the metal building/metal building-related industry, serving as District Manager in the Southern Alabama/Florida Panhandle region for the past eleven (11) years. Lucy enjoys living in beautiful Pensacola, Florida with her husband of twenty-eight years, Keith.

 

 

 

SBS welcomes Ron Ambrosius as the District Manager for Wisconsin:

Ron AmbrosiusRon began his career in the metal building industry in 1974 with a metal building dealer. During his 34 year career Ron has held several positions with Metallic-Braden and Kirby Building Systems. He comes to SBS following 18 years as a District Manager for Kirby. Ron lives in Milwaukee with his wife and two children. His territory is the state of Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan.


 

SBS welcomes Doug Brown as the District Manager for Illinois, Indiana & Missouri:

Doug Brown
Doug began his career in the metal building industry in 1976 as a district manager for Metallic – Braden. Since then, Doug has been a district manager for Chief and Kirby, where he just recently completed 14 years of service. He will be seeking business opportunities for SBS in Illinois, the southern half of Indiana and the St. Louis area. Doug and his wife Beth, reside in Cowden, Il, which is 20 minutes from the new SBS plant in Effingham.

 

SBS welcomes Gary Yoder as the Director of Midwest Sales:

Gary Yoder
Gary comes to SBS with 25 years of metal building experience.  He started his career as Plant Manager for Silvercote a division of John Mansville and was shortly promoted to outside sales within that organization. Most of his experience has been as a District Manager for Summit Buildings, Inland Buildings, Metallic Buildings, and most recently Chief Buildings.  Gary will lead our Midwest Sales effort as well as continue as District Manager for Michigan and Northern Indiana.

Gary, his wife Valerie, and three children live in Elkhart, Indiana where Gary has been a life long resident.

Engineering:
Patrick Barrick is the newest member of our Engineering team.  He will be the Design Engineer at the Hueytown, AL plant.  He will be specializing in the design of low to mid complexity jobs.  Patrick will be involved in the MBS configuration as well.  He is currently working on his P.E. certification.

Drafting:
Mike Walsh has joined the SBS Drafting team as Drafting Manager.  He will lead the drafting training program as well as assist in drafting schedules.  Mike has over 32 years experience in the metal building industry.

SBS also has a new contract drafting group. This addition should add over a $1 million worth of detailing capacity.

New Products

  • Ag Panel
    In April we added the SBS-369 panel. This is primarily a 29GA panel for agricultural applications.
  • Architectural Standing Seam
    In August, SBS will begin rolling a 2" vertical leg standing seam panel with 16” coverage. SBS is currently sponsoring a contest to name this panel.
  • Sub-girts / Hat Sections
    In July, SBS will begin rolling a series of hat sections and channels used in retrofitting and miscellaneous field fabrication.

SBS will continue to add new products to broaden what we can offer to our customers.

General Announcements

Effingham, IL Plan:
Schulte Building Systems is proud to announce the opening of its newest metal building manufacturing facility in Effingham, Illinois. The new location complements our two existing state of the art manufacturing facilities that are located in Hockley, TX and Hueytown, AL. Like our Texas and Alabama facility this plant is specifically designed for material flow that will allow us to provide the marketplace with a high quality product, that is erector friendly and cost effective.

Hueytown, Alabama Facility:
Since our grand opening in October of 2006, this facility has grown to 21 employees strong.  This includes a fully fledged Building and Component sales team with complete Drafting and Engineering squads in house.  This plant is also home to the most technically advanced roll formers and trim folding machines in the industry. Hueytown also supplies a full line of inventory to cover any of our customers needs.

Record Setting Month:
May 2007 was a record setting month for shipments for Schulte Building Systems; shipping over $6.3 million in Buildings and Components.
